Story Ave Labs are collaborative, project-based experiences built around experimentation, creation, and real-world application. Students work across disciplines, rotate through professional roles, learn directly from working creatives, and leave with something they have actually made.

Innovation + Entrepreneurship
Students identify problems around them and develop creative solutions through research, design thinking, AI-assisted prototyping, and storytelling—culminating in a professional pitch.
CULTURE CAPSULE
Publishing + Visual Storytelling
Students become the editorial team behind a publication about their own community—working as writers, photographers, designers, and editors to create a professional print and digital zine
CITY STORIES
Documentary + Journalism
Students become documentary filmmakers, researching and interviewing people in their communities before producing original micro-documentaries. Along the way, they explore storytelling, cinematography, editing, journalism, and ethical representation.
SAMPLING & REMIX LAB
Music Production + Culture
Students explore how music travels across genres, cultures, and generations by transforming existing sounds into something new—learning sampling, looping, arrangement, and digital production while developing their own creative voice.
SHOOT & SELL
Content + Brand Storytelling
Students become a creative agency, taking a brand idea from concept to launch through strategy, writing, filmmaking, editing, and social content—culminating in their own finished campaign.
SOUND DESIGN LAB
Sound + Creative Technology
Every student begins with the same melody—and takes it somewhere completely different. By experimenting with rhythm, effects, tempo, texture, and environmental sound, students discover how technical choices can create emotion and individual expression.

Story Ave is constantly developing new Labs in collaboration with local artists, educators, and creative professionals. Programs can be adapted—or created from the ground up—to reflect the interests of students, the goals of a school, and the creative culture of the community we're working within.
